Our Story
Our founder Mark was stressed out when his teenage kids were learning English–they were disengaged while their writing skills did not progress. Being a problem-fixer, Mark took matters into his own hands and wanted to create a solution. He then ringed up his former colleague Lidija–whom he had a prior successful business venture with–and she was facing the same challenges with her kids! Together, they developed Scribo Writing, a comprehensive writing tool for learners, leveraging the early versions of LLMs. Over time, they discovered that lifting writing skills is a global challenge, not just a Mark and a Lidija thing. They took feedback from educators and learners and continuously improved Scribo, aligning its methodologies with local pedagogies and research. Now, Scribo has been used by hundreds of schools around the world.
As schools started to embrace AI with Scribo, they were asking if Literatu could provide more innovative ways to improve the teacher workflow. The company then developed Scribo Micro, an AI-powered content generation tool for teachers. Teachers love it as they now spend less time searching for content, creating materials, setting up quizzes; while they spend more time engaging with students.
While Scribo Learning has a strong track record in serving schools, the team thought “how can bring the same AI goodness to parents at home?” With the current trend of AI cheating and reducing screen time, it’s no surprise that parents are buying more books than ever, staying away from screens! Technology is moving forward, while education is stuck backward–or so it seems. Scribo Vision was then developed to help education progress together with AI technology. The app allows parents and educators to simply snap a photo of handwritten work and get instant personalised feedback.

Founder and chief visionary, Mark is the driving force behind the company. The Chief Everything Officer loves to keep his hands full in the development of the software, marketing, and building customer and partner relationships. He is on the road every month, talking at conferences about AI for good and meeting educators.
